Specialties we support

Built for the cases that need a physician at the head of the chair.

All-on-X and full-arch

General anesthesia with nasal intubation or deep IV sedation for long full-arch surgeries.

Learn more

Full-arch surgery means long appointments with extractions, bone work and bleeding in the mouth. For many of these cases we recommend general anesthesia with a nasal breathing tube: the patient is fully asleep, the airway is secured, and the entire mouth is open for the surgeon. Shorter or simpler cases can be done under deep IV sedation. We plan the anesthetic with you before surgery day.

Periodontics

Grafting, implant placement and extensive periodontal surgery for anxious or medically complex patients.

Learn more

Gum grafts, sinus lifts, bone grafting and implant placement can be hard to sit through awake. IV sedation keeps patients relaxed and still, while a physician watches their breathing, heart rate and oxygen the entire time. You can focus on the surgery instead of stopping to reassure the patient.

Endodontics

Sedation for retreatments, multiple canals in one visit, and patients who can't tolerate treatment awake.

Learn more

Retreatments, several teeth in one visit, severe dental anxiety and a strong gag reflex are common reasons endodontists bring in anesthesia. A calm, still patient makes long procedures smoother for you and much easier for them, and lets you finish in fewer appointments.

Cosmetic dentistry

Comfortable, discreet care for veneer, smile makeover and full-mouth reconstruction cases.

Learn more

Smile makeovers and full-mouth reconstructions often mean long appointments. With sedation or general anesthesia, patients can complete more work in fewer visits, comfortably and privately. That matters to the high-profile patients many cosmetic practices serve.

Two levels of anesthesia

IV sedation or general anesthesia, matched to the case.

IV sedation

The patient breathes on their own and sleeps comfortably through the procedure, with little or no memory of it afterward. A good fit for most periodontal, endodontic and cosmetic cases.

General anesthesia with nasal intubation

For longer and more involved surgery, such as full-arch cases. We place the breathing tube through the nose, so:

  • The dentist has full, unobstructed access to the mouth
  • The airway is secured for the entire case
  • Water, secretions and dental material can't be inhaled into the lungs

We use TIVA (total intravenous anesthesia) and an ERAS enhanced-recovery protocol for steady surgical conditions, less nausea, fewer opioids and a faster recovery.

Why a physician anesthesiologist

Hospital-level expertise, boutique-level care.

An anesthesiologist caring for a healthy 20-year-old in a dental chair should have the training to manage an 80-year-old with a complicated history in a hospital. Every one of our doctors does.

That depth comes with a calm, personal bedside manner. We regularly care for high-profile patients, executives and fellow physicians, discreetly and on their schedule.

Safety comes first. Every case, sedation or general anesthesia, gets the same equipment and vigilance as a surgery center: full monitoring, SCDs, a video laryngoscope, backup airway equipment, emergency medications and an AED on hand in the room.
